How Do You Like It?
We were up bright and early but didn't get out of the house until about 0730. Stopped by Wal-Mart for gas, I was going to do it yesterday but there were to many people and it was just a huge traffic jam.
We got to the lake front and thought we had taken a wrong turn and ended up back on Adak, AK the wind was blowing so hard. Walked with the wind to our backs to start and got a good push but when we turned around it was tough going but we finally made it back to the car and rewarded ourselves by going to Sonic.
Then we were on our way for today's mission. Headed up to Waterford Lakes and our first stop was suppose to be BJ's but I forgot and ended up being in the wrong lane so we took the long way around and finally got there. They had both the TV and the entertainment center we wanted. Bought the entertainment center and did some measuring, decided the TV wouldn't fit in the car with the cabinet. Talked it over and the plan was to finish up the other places we wanted to go in Waterford Lakes, drop the cabinet at home and go to the Loop for lunch and the TV.
Parked at Target and walked over to Bath and Body Works for some room fresheners that Tammy has been using - got cinnamon, spiced cider and orange blossom. Can't wait to get them home and plugged.
On to Target to look at sale items that Tammy told me about. I ended up with 2 tops and a sweater, all for under $10, can't beat that. During the time I was looking at the racks Dan and I had this conversation. Dan, "You know I really think the TV will fit in the car with the cabinet." Lauri, "So you want to go buy the TV not really knowing if it will fit or not and when it doesn't I get to sit outside BJ's with the entertainment center while you drive the TV Home and be back in about two hours." Dan, "It might be longer than two hours because I think I'll stop for lunch on the way." Well this was to much for the lady standing behind us and she just started laughing and that set the both of us off. We decided again it would be best to go to the Loop after dropping the cabinet at home.
We also went to Pier 1 and the Scrapbook Store. Then off to drop the cabinet at home, lucked out because Chris was there and helped Dan unload the car.
By now it was time for lunch so we headed to Chipotle's for lunch. They had fallen victim to the high winds, their front door had been ripped off the hinges and was just leaning up against the outside wall. Both Dan and I had crispy tacos, steak for Dan and chicken for me, they were excellent.
After lunch walked down to Michael's and then we headed to Best Buy to check the price of the TV but it was $100 more so it was BJ's for our TV purchase.
Finally got home and started setting everything up and it was going just fine until we turned on the DirecTV box and it wouldn't acquire signal from the satellite. So we tried a couple of things, asked if the cable was on the correct input. Tried a couple more things, found the cable wasn't on the satellite in port, put it there still didn't work. Said to myself did you put it on satellite 1 not 2, answered myself, of course I did. Tried a couple more things checked and found the cable was on 2 changed it to 1 and lo and behold it worked. Both Dan and I needed a refresher course in attention to detail today. Just so you know there were some tones in voices during all this.
TV is up and running, almost have to wear sunglasses the picture is so bright. I could actually read the scroll on the race today without squinting. Everything looks great, just have to get rid of the old TV but it weighs a ton and is still sitting in the living room because I am no help in moving it so will have to wait for Chris.
Going to spend the rest of the evening admiring the new set up and wishing we had done this sooner.
