Parasailing on Castaway Cay

One of the highlights of our cruise was parasailing. Months ago I asked if anyone wanted to join me and one by one our group increased. We would have had more but by the time they decided to go the 0900 group was full and no one wanted to really go alone. We ended up with Dennis, Cole, Leesha, Sean, Tammy, Andy and me.

The excursion didn't start out very well, the guys running the show were having problems getting the parachute into the air, ended up taking 3 tries and neither of them were very happy and we were getting kind of nervous. Finally everything was right and we were ready to start.

I went first with my new best friend from Nashville. Had to fly tandem and we were the two on the end so we became a team.

Part of the crew, never did get the rest in a picture.

This is me just after take-off.

Up in the air, it was really very peaceful and not as windy as I thought it would be.

Coming in for a landing.

I survived to tell my story and I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Leesha, looking not to sure.

Ready for take-off.

There they go.

Enjoying the flight.

Just after being dipped.

Andy and Cole on their way up.

Spotting sea monsters.

They really got dipped.

Back on the boat.

Tammy and Dennis on their way. Tammy would have liked to have been first, doesn't like to wait but she was sitting in the wrong spot and had to go next to last. She found the anticipation was much worse then the actual event and she will be right next to me when we do it again.

Their dipping.

And back on the boat.

We all really enjoyed this and would do it again if we ever get the chance. Maybe we can convince some of the rest of our group to join us.

Expedition Everest Challenge

Last weekend (June 12th), Tammy, Kim, Cole, and I were getting ready to participate in the Expedition Everest Challenge. It was a 5K race with obstacles and then we went on a scavenger hunt. Both were pretty easy, thank goodness. The obstacles were a balance beam thing, that took more effort getting up on then actually walking across. Then we had to step through the tires and the last obstacle was crawling under some netting. The race was held at Disney's Animal Kingdom.

Getting ready before the race, numbers and chips in place.

Walking across the parking lot to the start area.

Cole tolerating the crazy ladies.

If you look closely at the above picture, you can see where we signed the board. Tammy and I are on the left, in the middle, in green ink and Kim and Cole are just below and to the right in blue.

Getting our pictures taken at some of the sets.

The two MC's of the preshow,  kept us occupies and laughing.

Start line before anyone lined up.

Watching the sunset, race didn't start until 2030 and our group didn't leave the start line until 2055.

Some shots before the start.

Cole trying to look bored but we knew he was bubbling with excitement.

Finally our turn.

Balance, Kim and Cole.

The tires, Kim and me. You can see we were really racing through them.

Forgot we had to jump over the hay bales.

The end of the 5K and getting our first clue on the scavenger hunt. Didn't find out until we got to the next clue that we had two different clues and had to go to different spots. They were really close together but confused us for a second or two.

You can see we are really rushing through the scavenger hunt.

We all crossed the finish line together.

With our new medals.

We all had a really good time and plan on doing it again next year. Always looking for more folks to join us in any of our adventures.

When It Gets Very Quiet...

It usually means a couple of kids are up to no good, but today they were just in their room and Riley was reading a story to Kaleigh and all the stuffed animals.
