Baseball

Yesterday was Riley's third baseball practice, really just an introduction to the basics, no games. He is still at the stage that if the ball (they use a koosh ball, much less dangerous) doesn't just land in his glove he's not going to catch it but it does come close every now and then.Holding the bat is another story, every time he touches it, he holds it a different way and swings like crazy. But he had a good time and that is all that matters. His favorite part was getting his own water and of course, snack.

Our visitor last night.

Didn't want to leave Kaleigh out, so this morning she looked so cute I couldn't resist taking a couple of pictures. OK it was probably closer to 20 shots but these were two I really liked.

Pool Time

We have been having lots of fun in the pool lately. Kaleigh is a regular little water baby and has no problems getting right into the water. Riley has to warm up to the whole thing and still doesn't want to go underwater but he does a bit more every time he gets in the pool.

Lifeboat Drill and Sail Away Party

As most everyone knows, one of the first things you have to do when you board a cruise ship is to eat lunch and get acquainted with the layout of the ship. Then it is off to the  lifeboat drill. Again I have to say, Disney does it right, we were only standing on deck for about 15 minutes and then we were back to our cabins.

Of course the kids found the whistles very amusing, much more so then any of the adults.

As you can see the life vests for the kids were a bit to big, but Disney delivered some smaller ones made just for toddlers to the cabin later that day.

Here's part of the crew, don't really know where the rest ended up.

After the drill, went up to deck nine and watched the Sail-Away show for a while.

It was very tiring watching all that dancing going on.

Then it was back down to the cabins with the verandas and we watched as we sailed away to start our vacation.

As we were pulling out of the port saw all sorts of marine life; sting-rays, dolphins, sharks, and others that we couldn't identify.  All in all a great day.

Upcoming Races

We have quite a few races that we are already registered for, figure if we register we will do them.

Starting next weekend we will be doing another family 5K; Kim, Tammy, Mum, Dad, and me. It is in St Augustine and starts at the old fort.

I think it will be just Kim and me for the Tour de Pain, it is three races in one. Starting with a 4-miler on the beach Friday night at Jacksonville Beach. Then Saturday morning we will do a 5k and at 1630 that afternoon it is a one mile, don't think it will be a sizzler for me. Dan and I are going to make a weekend of it. August 13 and 14.

Then our first big one, the 1/2 marathon at Disneyland. Kim, Dan, and I are flying out for the long weekend and Kim and I will be doing the race. Dan is official bag carrier, photographer, and chauffeur. We are pretty excited about this one. September 5

The next race is part of a series but we didn't find out about it until we missed the first one and only Kim did the second one. We will be doing all three next year. But for now it is the Miracle Miles 15K in Orlando. September 25

Last year Kim and I did the Wine & Dine but it was a 10K and started in the morning, this year it is a 1/2 Marathon and starts at 2230. Again we always look forward to the Disney races because they are so much fun and well organized. October 2

This next one I had to do some arm twisting but Kim came around to my way of thinking so we will both be doing the Disney World Marathon. That was my big goal for this year, wonder what it will be for 2011-2012? We start training for this after the Disneyland 1/2 Marathon. January 9, 2011

And back to where it all started, Disney's Princess 1/2 Marathon, this will probably be an annual event just to commemorate our first long race. Hard to believe how much we have accomplished in the last year and a half. February 27, 2011

These are the planned races, we will be doing some 5K's or 10K's here and there but for the most part this is our race schedule for the next eight months.

Clamp Rack

Dan had been wanting to build this clamp rack for some time and just hasn't had the time to do it, so Dad volunteered if Dan provided the lumber. Well the wood was over to Dad's workshop in no time and before we knew it we were the proud owners of a clamp rack. Dad built the basic rack and Dan added the shelves and little racks on the end and stained it.

Pretty nice!!!
