A Great Way to End the Year

I was starting to think that this would be the month that I didn't lose any weight. It wouldn't have been a bad thing considering all the stuff we did and all the places we went that had good food. But today I lost 2.6 lbs so it was a losing month and I can't ask for anymore than that. I'm within 3 pounds of my goal but I would like to go a bit lower to have some wiggle room, I need wiggle room for those times when things don't go quite as I plan.

After the meeting I ran a few errands. First stop was Panera for bread, been thinking about making paninis for dinner for a couple of days and I wanted some good bread. Then to WalMart and Publix.

The rest of the day was filled with boxing up ornaments, still not done but have made a dent in the pile on the table.

One Tree Down, 22 More to Go

Decided to go to AAA today and get the new Florida Tour Book and when I got there I pulled out my card and found out I hadn't received my new card yet. I knew I had paid but didn't know what was going on with the card. Had no problems getting the new book because everything was up to date in the computer and the receptionist requested new cards be sent to us. When Dan got home I had him check his card and it was for 2009 so I guess when the new cards came I shredded the wrong card.

Also went to Michaels to get the scrapbook albums that I needed for the different sets of layouts I have. Now everything is is albums.

Spent the rest of the day taking down the tree. Had to wait for Dan to get home because I couldn't get one of the sections apart but now it is down and boxed up. Wish I could say the same for the ornaments, guess that will be my job tomorrow after I go shopping.

Just joking about 22 more trees to go it is only about half that.

Walking with Riley

Decided I needed to go for a walk today and thought Riley would enjoy going with me. He was finishing up breakfast when I got there. So got him dressed and we were off. We hadn't done this in a long time. Went to the lake front to see what we could see. As always he was very interested in his snacks.

I know I'm kind of late with the lion picture but I couldn't pass it up today. I really thought he would be dressed for the New Year by now, that will probably be tomorrow.

We really didn't see much wildlife today so took some pictures of the fountain, Riley was pretty interested in it. I think he would have liked to play in it.

This was pretty much what we saw for wildlife, three sandhill cranes coming in for a landing, they were just as noisy as always and we certainly couldn't miss seeing them.

We walked about two miles, saw lots of people, most were on bikes or roller skates.

Got back to the apartment and got some pictures of Kaleigh but she sure didn't want to look at me today. Daddy was much more interesting.

Then I played with Riley for a bit, he cooked me some carrots and french fries, quite the combination.

Then I was off to work on sorting through pictures to see what I wanted to get prints of. I also started thinking about my year in review album for 2008, I think I'm going to do it all digitally. Just need to come up with a format.

Happy Birthday

So who do you think is celebrating today? I know she says she isn't having birthdays anymore but I still want to wish her a happy day.

Happy Birthday Mum. Have a piece of cake for me.

Sunday

Started with a trip to the ATM, we were in Dan's van and it wouldn't fit in the drive thru lane so went to the ATM in front and of course it wasn't working. I walked over to the drive thru and made the deposit. When we left the bank, drove through Sonic and who is there but Tammy, Kim, and Cole. Pulled in and talked to them for a few minutes.

Then we were on to WalMart, only three things on my list and we came home with a whole cart full of stuff. I'm blaming Dan, he is the one that said we should go look at the Christmas decoration and see what was on sale. Ended up with a bunch of outdoor decorations for next year.

Home Depot was calling Dan, he needed to get another light for the garage and this time we got the right bulbs for it the first time, unlike the last time he got one of these fixtures.

Went home and dropped everything off and headed out to Best Buy. I finally decided to get my external drive. I got the Seagate 1.5 TB. I had a couple of question about the differences between two models but the girl I asked was no help so called my computer people and Chris was able to give me some info.

Spent the afternoon copying everything I wanted from the computer to the external drive, it was all already backed up on cd/dvd. Lost to many things when my old external drive failed and I now know the more backups the better.

Football was the only other thing on our schedule today and I took a nap during some of that.

The Cutie Pies

Went over to Andy and Nikki's to hang some stuff for them and we got to play with Riley and Kaleigh.

Kaleigh may not have much hair but she has just enough to put a velcro bow in and it sure looks cute. She is doing really well with sitting up and balancing herself. Even caught herself a few times and didn't fall over.

Riley really liked all his Christmas presents. The cars/trucks with the roadway rug will keep him busy.

His kitchen was a big hit to, likes to cook food for us and even got me a soda out of the little refrigerator.

Kaleigh is almost crawling, she gets her belly off the floor and is almost on her knees.

I was taking pictures of Kaleigh and Riley kept trying to get my attention so I would take his picture and I finally did. Was rewarded with this big smile.

Here is Andy and Nikki's gingerbread house for this year. It is a tradition for them, I'm sure next year Riley is going to want to help with decorating.

Today we watched "The Dark Knight", it was much longer then I thought but was still pretty good. Wonder what we will watch tomorrow?

Quiet After the Storm

Had a pretty quiet day. Got the oil changed in the Honda and it took way longer then we felt it should have so we will be going else where from now on. Did get a nice walk in while we were waiting and stopped at Sonic along the way.

Did the weekly shopping at WalMart and stopped at Pinch-a-Penny on the way home for chlorine.

Tammy, Kim, and the girls stopped by for a visit.

The rest of our afternoon was spent watching The Mummy. We will be watching movies quite a bit for a while because there were lots under the tree yesterday.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas everyone. This was the first year it was just Dan and I on Christmas morning, pretty strange but we knew Andy, Nikki, and the kids would be coming by soon so we were looking forward to that.

In our house everyone has a stocking and the cats were very interested in theirs.

Got Riley to sit down with the promise of opening presents.

I got my one picture and off he went, he was very excited about opening presents. Didn't really care who they were for just as long as he got to open them.

Kaleigh just watched.

Riley also learned very fast that clothes didn't require him to look at them and to just toss them aside.

These were Kaleigh stocking stuffers and she was very interested in them. Just the right size for her to pick up and look at.

After opening all the presents I made bacon, egg, and cheese biscuits for everyone. Chris showed up shortly after that and we all headed over to Tammy's.

There was singing.

There was Twister Hopscotch.

There were video games.

And there was brotherly love.

I don't know how Breann ate this, it was almost as big as her.

We were lucky enough to have good weather and got to have a Christmas picnic.

Riley enjoying one of the cookies that Jodi brought, I would say he really liked it.

Looks like trouble here.

It's all fun and games until someone gets Cool Whip up their nose.

Riley was having a good time with Breann's dolls. He knew just what to do, must pay attention when Mama and Dada are taking care of Kaleigh.

Looks like the Cool Whip War's have resumed.

Opening more presents.

If I sit here real nice maybe someone will put another present in my lap.

It worked and I got a Lightnin' McQueen remote control car, it is lots of fun.

Kaleigh getting to open her gifts.

Sam feeding Kaleigh her lunch, lots of new faces during this meal.

And all of them so cute.

John drove down to visit and got some shots with Gramma and Grampa.

Kim with her boys, don't very often get a chance for this shot.

We had a great day and Santa was very good to all of us. Hope all of you had a great day also.

Merry Christmas

It's My Birthday

Can't believe another year has come and gone, but here I am celebrating my birthday. Didn't really do anything which is just how I wanted it.

Weight Watcher's was good, down 1.4 lbs which makes me even for the month and that is all I want from this time of year.

I didn't have to go anywhere on the way home because I did everything yesterday and I'm so glad I did.

Spent the day watching all the Christmas movies I have recorded over the last couple of weeks and wrapped the last few presents.

Then Dan took me out for dinner, right where I wanted to go - Taco Bell.

Now we are home for the evening just waiting for a visit from Santa.

Wrapping, Wrapping, Wrapping

Every year I swear I won't leave the wrapping of presents until the last day and will do it as I buy gifts and every year I stand over a table for hours wrapping presents. Well that is what I did today.

I also made one final trip to WalMart, I was going to wait until tomorrow but I decided that wouldn't be a very good idea so I went out today.

Stopped by Andy and Nikki's because yesterday neither Andy or I could remember anything and all the stuff I had in the backseat for him was still in the backseat when I got home. So I dropped all of that off with them today.

I am happy to say all Christmas shopping is done and I only have a few more things to wrap. So tomorrow should be a day of rest. Although I really should be in my craft room cleaning it up. It is always a mess at this time of year.

Getting Caught Up

Today was a day of catch up. First Andy and I went out to do some shopping, can't really say where we went because I don't want to give anything away.

Got home at about 1300 and I spent the afternoon finishing up my journal from the trip and starting to catch up on my blog entries. I am finding pictures are worth a 1,000 words and more pictures make it easier to tell the story of the weekend.

All Good Things Must Come to an End

As always vacations come to an end and usually just in the nick of time. We were some tired folks this morning but we had one more adventure. The Character Breakfast at the Cape May Restaurant in the Beach Resort. Got there with only one wrong turn but on Disney property it is always so hard to find a place to correct that wrong. It was early so there was no traffic and that made it much earlier to overcome. We still got to the breakfast with lots of time to spare.

First let me say the breakfast buffet is worth the price of admission and watching the kids see the Goofy, Minnie, and Donald just make it all that much better.

Kaleigh was very interested in all of the characters and had no fear at all. Here she is laying her eyes for the first time on Goofy.

Goofy had to sneak up on Riley because he still isn't sure about the big characters. The face characters he was doing better with.

Kaleigh got to rub noses with Minnie.

Riley likes it much better when someone is holding him to greet the characters. So that is what we did.

Kaleigh with her first Cheerio, she wasn't quite sure what to make of it but she did eat three of them.

Oh look there is another one.

We went back to Port Orleans after breakfast to pick up our bills and loaded everything in the cars. Then we stopped at WalMart to pick up a few things and it was home for us.

Spent the rest of the day doing laundry, uploading pictures, looking through pictures and just getting caught up after being gone for 4.5 days.
