Memorial Day

Well as you can see a good time was had by all. Good food and fun in the pool. It was a gorgeous day, sunny and breezy not hot but warm enough to go in the pool. Even though the 80 degree water felt really chilly when we first got in. We got a canopy to shade us from the sun and it worked great. Not sure about the putting it up in 1 minute with two people but Dan and I did get it up and were both alive when we finished.

Dan was the official bbq'er and did an excellent job on the hamburgs and hot dog. Then we had lots of other stuff, probably to much. There was honey baked ham, tomato and mozzarella salad, deviled eggs (just for Andy), veggie tray (just for Tammy), chips and dip, cheesecake, angel food cake, strawberries, and coolwhip. What more could you ask for?

After Riley's second dip in the pool he was hungry and while I was feeding him, he fell asleep in my arms, that hasn't happened in a long time. Since he has started holding his own bottle he pretty much wants to be on the floor and do it himself, just like his dad. So I was happy to be able to hold a sleeping baby for a bit.

Well, we missed everyone that wasn't here and wished you had been, maybe next time. If the Air Force ever gets going on the beach houses maybe we will be having an end of summer cookout over there.

First Day on the Job

Riley and I had quite a day. We spent the morning playing and that is very hard work, I sure don't know where he gets his energy from. Then it was time for his bath which he liked a lot and probably wished I would have let him stay in longer but I really want to see him in his little robe and don't you think he is just the cutest little boy.

By this time everyone (that would be Riley and me) was getting hungry so it was a ham sandwich for me and sweet potatoes and chicken for Riley. I think Riley would have prefer the ham sandwich but he ate the whole jar. A bit more playing and it was nap time. Riley would have slept longer but the maintenance guys decided it was a good time to do the weed whacking and it woke Riley up with a start and he wasn't a happy camper for the next hour.

Finally got back to his usual sunny self and we spent the afternoon on the floor chasing his toys around and listening to the music they all make.

Then Grammie got to go home and rest for a spell. All in all it was a good day.

Babysitting Duty

Yesterday Nikki and Andy went to see Pirates of the Caribbean and we were lucky enough to stay with Riley. Had several adventures: went for two walks, played on the swings and slide, watched the races, and played eat the baby.

Riley is just going to skip over crawling (he does scooch to get from one handhold to another) and go right to walking. He much prefers to up and walking around the coffee table or anything else that is the right height.

I'm also going to start watching Riley again. Nikki got a job at Universal and I have been appointed Chief Cook and Bottlewasher, thank goodness it is one of my favorite jobs.

A Step Back in Time

I have been working on getting some of my pictures back on the computer after the great hard drive crash of 2007. Let that be a lesson for you - backup everything. I have started with my scanned pictures, which means some pretty old ones. Here we all are with Mum over at the Kimballs. Even when Tammy is in the picture she isn't, all you can see is her foot in the stroller. I really love looking at these pictures, seeing what we wore and all the things around us. Hope this brings back some good memories.

Welcome

I'm starting with an easy first entry, not sure what I'm going to do yet but I will try to update regularly. This is a shot of Riley on moving day. We were all very busy doing all the stuff that needs to be do when you move and when we looked around there was Riley standing up at the box. We never did see him stand up this day (May 12, 2007) but now he is doing it all the time. If you look close you can see his first two teeth. Click on the picture and you will really be able to see those teeth.
