We Had a Great Time!

Today was Kaleigh's first of many visits to Disney and although all she did was sleep we still had a good time for her.

This visit was mostly about Riley, Nikki had decided this week his first haircut would be at the barber shop on Main Street. Getting a bit ahead of myself so back to the beginning of the day.

We met Mum/Gramma/GG and Dad/Grampa/Jagee at the Wal-Mart on 535 so we could caravan in together and park near each other. Went to EPCOT to do the entry and get our tickets and we turned right around and got on the monorail to head to the Magic Kingdom. One of the things that made the day so great was we never had to wait for anything except lunch and the monorail back and neither of those were long waits.

Once we got to the ticket and transportation center decided to take the boat because it was there and it took off as soon as we got on. So we were in the Magic Kingdom in no time. First stop was City Hall to get Kaleigh's First Visit Pin and then it was off to the Barber Shop.

We did have a bit of a wait there but there was lots to keep us occupied. First we watched Clarence and Clarabelle the cows greet the kids. Riley was really enjoying that, he wanted to get out the stroller and join them. So when they left and Daisy Duck came out and Dan got in line so Riley could meet her. He wasn't to thrilled once he actually got up to her and couldn't wait to get away. Once he was back in his stroller all he wanted was to go see her again.

As you can see Kaleigh didn't mind one bit getting up close to Daisy.

Well it was finally our turn for a haircut. This is the before picture of what the back looked like.

Mary was just wonderful with Riley and he pretty much just sat there and watched what was going on and played with the stickers she had given him.

The long piece is gone, the curls (for the most part) are gone and he looks like a grown-up little boy.

Making sure he looked good.

Here he is in his "My First Haircut" set of ears. He also got a certificate.

By this time we were ready for a snack, so headed off to the bakery and sat at a table out on the sidewalk. Listened to some performers sing and then we were on our way.

Our first show of the day was Mickey's PhilharMagic, it had a posted wait time of 10 minutes so Andy went around the corner to get fastpassess for Peter Pan's Flight and we went in. We could have walked right into the show but Andy hadn't caught up with us yet. We were perfectly happy to just wait until the next show but just as the doors were closing Andy and Kaleigh arrived and they let us in and we sat down just as the show was beginning.

Riley loved it as he did with everything we went on. He sat on Nikki's lap and just watched everything. The few times he took off the special glasses he wanted them right back on because he knew something wasn't right. Kaleigh wasn't to thrilled with the wind that blows during the magic carpet ride but she survived.

Next was the Haunted Mansion and Riley rode with Dan and I and again he just took everything in. We also just walked right into this ride. By this time our fastpass was good for Peter Pan so we went back up there. Riley rode with us again and this time we sat him on the seat between us and when the bar came down, Dan told him to hold on and that is what he did for the whole ride.

Then we were off to Pirates of the Caribbean. Walked right on to this too. We were going along fine and got to the room with the two ships firing cannons at each other when the boat ahead of stopped and then we stopped. Sat there long enough for the announcement to come on that we should just sit there and it would start up again soon. Pretty soon we look ahead of us and on the left and see a flashlight and a cast member waving their hands over their head. So the people in the boat ahead of us start waving and rocking their boat back and forth and we find out it was actually stuck on the rail and needed to be rocked to start going. The cast member yelled at them if they stop again to do the same thing. I have never seen this happen and it was pretty funny. It did happen again but now they had experience and got going right away.

Off to lunch and this was our only disappointment of the day. We had be looking forward to the Noodle House and found out it didn't open until 1700 for dinner. So we went to Cosmic Ray's in Tomorrowland. Andy had gone to Space Mountain to get fastpasses for him and Nikki.

Had a pretty good lunch. Kaleigh finally woke up because it was lunch time for her too. So we got all of that out of the way. The weather was starting to look like it was going to rain but we just took our chances and headed up into Fantasyland to see what characters were out. They must have all been at lunch because none were to be found.

So we went into Pooh's Playful Spot and let Riley run free and he had a great time. Didn't want to leave but all good things must come to an end.

The Tomorrowland Transit Authority was next, just killing time until Nikki and Andy could go on Space Mountain. There was no line after our first ride so we just stayed on and rode through again. Mainly because Riley had fallen asleep and anything we could do to keep him that way we would do.

After our second trip we got off, put Riley in the stroller (he did stay asleep), Kaleigh in the front pack so I could carry her and we were off for a walk while Andy and Nikki rode Space Mountain. We walked behind the Indy Car ride down to Toon Town and back again. Went in the gift shop where the Space Mountain exit is and waited for Andy and Nikki. Only had a couple of minutes to wait.

We were done in then Magic Kingdom so off we went to catch the monorail. We got on the third one so that wasn't to bad.

At EPCOT we walked to Norway and got pretzels to take home and Andy and Nikki were heading off to Japan.

On our way out Dan and I stopped to check out our pictures (I'll post those later) and then it was home for us.

It was such a good day. There weren't many people in the park, the temperatures weren't bad, it didn't rain, I just don't know how it could have been any better!
