The Barber is In

Started the day by giving Cole a haircut, thank goodness he is an easy customer to satisfy. Visited for a bit with Tammy, Kim, and the kids and then they were off to Wal-Mart and I was back to doing laundry.

Dan did the yard today, everything looks so nice, he edged, mowed, and swept. Took him most of the morning.

I headed over to pick up Nikki, Riley, and Kaleigh to go to Jessica's Birthday Party. Riley was all dressed up in a pair of jeans and he looked so cute.

Of course Kaleigh had a cute onsies and headband on so she was looking pretty good too.

Riley was really enjoying Jessica's play kitchen and he was having a good time with Cole cooking something up. At one point it was baked stuffed chipmunk.

Sami kept him amused for a while also.

Here is the Birthday Girl with the sticker and coloring books she got for her birthday. Thank goodness Tammy and Breann were around to lend a hand.

Jessica was so cute blowing bubbles, we really needed video because she would work very hard with all sorts of faces and all of a sudden there would be bubbles.

She had a Princess Cake made out of cupcakes that was really cute and everyone enjoyed it.

We left shortly after the cake and Riley fell asleep on the way home, Nikki got him into bed without waking him up so you know he was pretty tired. Plus he has the beginnings of a cold and that didn't help.

I spent the rest of the evening reading Breaking Dawn (The Twilight Saga, Book 4) so far I'm enjoying it and hope to finish this weekend.

Best Sound in the Morning

This morning it was water coming out of the faucet. I always worry when we have well problems it will just keep continuing. But not today we had water and I got a shower first thing in the morning. Nothing could ruin this day.

Errands, but not as many as normal because I was out shopping yesterday. Wal-Mart and the Post Office then I was off to Panera to get some of the Pink Ribbon bagels. They are some of the best and they are are only available for a short time during the year. Wanted to get a dozen but all they had was eight so I rounded the baker's dozen out with five others. They are just going in the freezer so we can enjoy them longer.

Weight Watcher's was good today, down 1.4 pounds. I wasn't feeling that optimistic this morning but that was ok because the scale never lies. No matter how much you think sometimes that it does.

Chris got home last night, had a good time. Found out that the conference for the next two years will be in Las Vegas so he was pretty happy about that. There had been a rumor that it was moving to Orlando and that isn't very exciting for him. He was pretty tired but did have today off so that helped. We might even see him this weekend.

Rest of the day was pretty quiet so I just took it easy.

Water, Water, Nowhere Any Water

There was another picture I wanted to post but of course I couldn't find it. So I thought this one would be just as good. This is Kim with Leesha, Sami, and Kimi. It was taken in 95-96 time frame while the boys and I were living in Orlando.

Hope your day started out better than ours. This is the time of year we start to have problems with the pump on the well. Usually it only takes a whack on the solenoid or a good cleaning of the contacts and everything is back in working order. Not this morning so we woke up to no water, not the best way to start the day.

I knew I was heading out to go shopping with Tammy so I could escape the no water problem. Dan had to find a way to get it fixed, and of course he did. We ended up replacing the pump but that is one of those things we are always expecting to have to do and had avoided it for a couple of years. The best part was the well guy worked us into his schedule and it was all fixed about an hour after I got home.

Had a good time out shopping, ended up being Tammy, Mum, Dad and me. Went all over the place stopping at Panera, Party City, JoAnn's, Target, Lowes, and BJ's. Sure did get our shopping quota in today.

This afternoon Dan and went over to see Andy, Nikki and the kids, always a nice way to spend some time. Everyone was in a good mood and we had a good time playing and visiting.

Where Does the Week Go?

No walk this morning, just didn't feel like it. Will have to make up for it by doing something else, guess chasing the kids around will have to be the something.

When I arrived both kids were sleeping and had only been down for about 45 minutes or so. Talked to Andy while he had his lunch and then it was time for him to head back to work. Made up Riley's grilled cheese sandwich so it would be ready to go.

When Riley got up from his nap the living room got so dark we could hardly see. We had to go outside to investigate and it was the thunderstorms coming our way. The wind was whipping and it was starting to rain but the best part was when Riley told me it was a car driving past us as we stood there.

I got a couple of shots of the sleeping baby, pretty cute and she makes the best faces while she is laying there. Of course I couldn't get any of those.

Riley just being cute while eating. I handed him a paper towel to use to wipe his face and he said thank you. New words all the time.

When Riley was about 1/2 way through his lunch Kaleigh woke up so I was feeding her and hoping Riley would be happy in his chair for a bit longer and he did very well. Andy got home just as Kaleigh was finishing with her bottle, so he got Riley cleaned up and out of his chair.

Got to have some play time with Daddy, that is always fun.

I got home between all the rain showers. Also saw where there is another building going up in the Publix parking lot on the Canoe Creek side. Andy pointed this out to me, not sure what it is going to be. From a distance it looks like maybe a fast food of some kind.

I got quite a bit done today on the scrapbook supplies, everything is organized at the moment. Should make my life much easier for the digital scrapbooking.

Windy Day

I remembered this morning that I hadn't checked the mail last night, it hadn't come the last time I checked at about 1630 but I was pretty sure it wasn't because we just had no mail, we always get mail. So as I was leaving for my walk Dan went to the mailbox with me and brought the mail and paper back to the house.

It was pretty windy out today, much more so then I thought it would be but it made for a pleasant walk and that is all I can ask for.

Starting to get a stiff neck from all the work that I have been doing on the computer. I don't have the best posture and the chair is really hard but I've been plugging away at tagging all the digital scrapbook supplies. Maybe I'll finish up tomorrow morning but I'm not holding my breath.

Another mail story. I went down to check it today and went out the front door. I come back to find Dan looking all over the house for me. He must have walked in just after I went out and I was looking at the mail when I walked up the driveway so I didn't know he was home. Pretty funny.

Crazy Weather

I was out for my walk bright and early this morning and was lucky enough to have this big cloud in front of the sun for almost all of my walk. Kept it pretty cool but it was still very humid.

Turned the corner to head down Cord, which means I have less then a quarter of a mile until I'm done and it starts sprinkling. Not a dark cloud in the sky and no clouds anywhere near me, so I have no idea where the rain was coming from. But it was enough to be a pain because I had the camera. I was rewarded with a rainbow as I was walking up the driveway.

First thing I did after getting home was check to see where Ike was. Good news for us but Texas and Louisiana aren't to happy right now. The path has actually moved further west since this shot.

I spent the rest of the day working on a class I'm taking for organizing my digital scrapbook supplies. It is two weeks long with lessons everyday and in just one day I have learned so much about the program I'm using to do this. Everything makes much more sense and will be easier to locate. Just very time consuming to begin with, have to label and tag every single piece. Once that is done I just have to keep up with the new stuff I get.

Some things that Riley has started doing that are very cute: he makes the sounds of a lion/tiger and a monkey. Instead of always saying no to a question he has started to say "Mmmmm", we are guessing that means yes. He is very helpful and really likes to help. Likes to have powder put on his belly. He's moving into being a two year old very nicely.

A Day In Pictures

More time in the pool today, had a really good time.

Modeling her new bathing suit.

Taking it easy in the pool.

First time with water wings, it was lots of fun.

Kicking and paddling.

Who should I go to now?

Kids bathing suits, aren't they just the cutest?

We did this with Riley when he was little also. The Baby In The Hat.

Riley wanted in on the fun, but then he was more interested in who was behind the black curtain.

The Happy Family, well almost, not sure who the laser gaze was meant for this time.
