Introducing Kaleigh Grace

Kaleigh is in the NICU right now, she is having some problems with her blood sugar. She has an IV and the doctor is thinking she will be in the nursery tomorrow. Other than that she is doing great and looks beautiful. I have decided the feet are not freakishly long and skinny but dainty, girly feet. She has lots of darkish hair right now and I haven't seen her eyes yet.

Nikki is doing great. Less then eight hours after Kaleigh was born she was up and in a wheel chair to go visit with Kaleigh. She is looking good, still a little water retention, but that should go away soon. Hoping to be home by mid-week, maybe Wednesday or Thursday.

Riley is not sure what is going on, he just knows something is up because the wrong people are in his house at strange times of the day. He hasn't seen Kaleigh yet, maybe tomorrow.

Andy is doing good, being Andy. Watching over Nikki and Kaleigh making sure they are doing ok.

Will keep you updated.

Not the Post I Expected Today

She's Here!

Kaleigh Grace made her way into the family at 0436 this morning. She weighed in at just over 7 lbs and is 20" long. Has lots of brown hair and freakishly long skinny feet (according to Andy).

Everyone is doing fine and I will report more as I get more information. Will be going to visit later this morning so pictures will be coming.

What a Day!

Started with a walk along the lake front, saw lots of wildlife by these two were the best shots I got. Usually turtles are very quick to swim away as soon as you get anywhere near them. This one just sat there and looked at us.

I just like the picture of the this bird.

Stopped by WalMart and Sonic before we headed home. Once there we didn't do much of anything got a couple of chores done and then it was time to head over to Tammy's.

We were celebrating Pirate Cole's eleventh (yes, eleventh, I can't believe it either) birthday.

Had a big crowd, Kim, Dennis, Kimberly, Tommy, Sami, Cole, Breann, Mum and Dad, Tammy and Tom, Andy, Nikki, and Riley and Dan and I were in attendance.

Started with a great meal: turkey and stuffing, honey-baked ham, potato salad, a couple different pasta salads, tomatoes and cucumbers. It was all delicious. This was followed by homemade cake. Choices were spice cake or chocolate cupcakes.

Not sure what is happening with the birthday pirate here, but he looks like he is having fun.

This was the conversation area. We were also welcoming Kim home, hard to believe she has already been home for a month. Sure did miss her while she was gone and we are glad she is back to stay.

It was pool time for Riley. The water was very nice, I was able to walk right in and Riley came right to me and didn't have any problems getting use to the water. He had a great time and the longer we were in there the more comfortable he became. By the end of the summer he will be a regular water baby.
Then the kids joined us and Riley really loved that. Breann just swam up to him underwater and popped up and he thought that was very funny. So they kept doing it and he kept laughing. Lots of fun.

There will be more pictures tomorrow in the weekly group that I sent out, so be on the look out for them.

We had a really great time today and all of us are looking forward to the picnic/pool party at the end of the month. Of course by then we will have added another member to the family.

Never Skip a Week at Weight Watchers

Started the day with a quick trip to WalMart to get our shopping done. Then it was off to Weight Watchers, I always know it will be bad after I skip a week. I ended up being up 2.4 lbs which isn't really bad but it isn't good either. Was hoping to be down 10 lbs before leaving for Santa Barbara but I don't think that will happen now because we leave in about 5 weeks.

Also found out that this WW Center is closing and a new one is opening in Hunter's Creek on June 8. So now I have to figure out what meeting I'll be going to. Sure would make it easy for Riley and me to stop by Panera for our snack if I decide to go to the Hunter's Creek meeting.

We were all done and home by 0845. So the rest of the morning was spent playing until Riley went down for his nap. Which turned into one of the longest he has ever taken, finally got him up at 1430.

One of the things we did this morning was color. We have a routine, Riley decides he wants his crayons and pad, so I get them down. He looks at all the colors, draws something, looks at the colors again.

Then he put them back in the box and we are done and I put everything away.

After Riley had his lunch we were going back in the kitchen to get a couple of nilla wafers for dessert and he was just a few steps ahead of me but so much faster. He reached up on the counter and grabbed for a plate that had two bowls setting on it and tipped it just enough that the bowls went flying. Hit him on his head and crashed to the floor. I scooped him up so he wouldn't step in the broken shards and put him in his chair. Then he watched me clean everything up. It scared us both more than anything else. He had a little goose egg on his forehead, on the opposite side from the last one he had.

Once everything got cleaned up had the cookies and continued on with our afternoon. Wasn't long before Andy got home.

The big news of the day. I finally broke down and turned on our AC, it never got below 81 in the house last night and it was up to 86 when I got home. That is just to hot, even for me. I hate turning it on because I know now it will be on until the end of October, beginning of November.

Boring

Not much going on today, didn't even leave the house. I take that back, I walked down to the mailbox. I know you all want my life.

I spent most of the day working on April pictures, almost done. Just couldn't do anymore I was starting to nod off as I was editing pictures and that isn't good. Would like the pictures to look better not worse when I get done with them.

I also did some more work on our closet. Getting stuff we are keeping into the Ikea boxes we bought and magazines into holders. Things are starting to look good. Need a couple more boxes and we will be set. Maybe we will make a trip to Ikea this coming week sometime.

Next week at this time Kaleigh will be here.

Told you it was a pretty boring day.

Mayflies Everywhere

Another walk at the lake front today. I had to put gas in the car and go to the bank, so seeing as how we were already out might as well go for our walk.

This is the first time we have seen so many mayflies. They were gathered around all the lights and thick as can be. When we rolled the stroller over them (not because I wanted to, but because we couldn't avoid them) it sounded like rice krispies; snap, crackle and pop.

Just as we got to the other side of the marina we met GG and Jagee. They were the lucky ones, finishing up their walk and not just starting out. Chatted for a few minuted and then continued on.

We had the breeze and the sun on our way out so it wasn't to bad and when we turned around, having the sun at our back was much better.

We saw this heron on the way back, it was stalking something in the water so we stopped and watched. One time he actually caught something, not sure what it was but the heron seemed happy with it. Got these action photos of him going after something but not catching it.

Found out that the other end of the walk is closed because they are putting in another pond. Hope this will be the end of the construction.

Riley finally went down for his nap at about 1130, he just didn't want to go to sleep. I put him on the couch and he laid there for quite a while and was quiet so I carried him into his bed and he dropped off to sleep.

I had the pleasure of Andy's company for lunch. He moved to the Saint Cloud job today and decided to come home and cool off for a half hour. Don't envy him working outside in these temperatures. Riley and I don't even like going out of the apartment in the afternoon now.

This afternoon we played how many times can we pick up the blocks and dump them out. Riley was doing pretty good with both parts but he really enjoyed the dumping out portion of the game.

Dan had the whole day off today and he was busy again. Changed the blades on the lawn mower and then mowed the grass, edged all the sidewalks and watered the plants.

Spent the evening preparing my April pictures for editing and backup, makes the process go faster if I do this. So I'm all set to get to work in the morning.

Happy Birthday Cole!

Hope you have a really great day and see you this weekend. Happy, Happy Birthday!
