Where Were All the People?

Tammy and I went over to Patrick today and it was like a ghost town. Not really complaining but it was kind of strange. Went to the Commissary, Exchange, and the Shoppette. Didn't really buy much but we had a good time looking. The main purpose was to go to the Uniform Shop and wouldn't you know it, it was closed because of the holiday.

Stopped at both Target and Wal-Mart on the way home. Tammy found some great deals on t-shirts but I didn't find anything.

Saw lots of wildlife on the trip over and back, turkeys, and lots of hawks. The hawks seemed to be everywhere.

By the time I got home Dan was already home, short day for him but he had lots of jobs he was trying to schedule.

Not much else going on, maybe the week will get more exciting as it goes on.

The Mystery is Solved...

What mystery you say, well the one where Kaleigh gets so very cranky right before naps. We think it might have been because she had two teeth come in. They were both through the gum and just waiting for someone to notice them. The reason they went unnoticed was because her tongue is always and I mean always sticking out and moving. So you have to move her tongue to see the teeth. And she has even more news, Kaleigh can roll from her belly to her back, she really likes this because she isn't to fond of being on her tummy. Both of these things came to light yesterday, which was also her 5 month birthday (if that is what you call it).

Today we had a really good time, went to the pumpkin patch again. Must be a tradition because it is our second year.

Started with breakfast at McDonald's and Riley must have been saving up for this because he ate 2.5 pancakes and .5 a hash brown.

I had checked the website and the Nursery was suppose to open at 0900, well we arrived at 0940 and they weren't open so I called their phone number and according to that they open at 1000 so we just waited and they were nice enough to open early when they saw us milling about smartly outside their gate. Had to check the website again, because I hate to be wrong and it did list Sunday having an 0900 opening.

Riley loved seeing all the pumpkins and if we had let him I think he would have touched every single one. He liked the big ones, he liked the little ones, he really liked the ones he could pick up.

I took lots of pictures and these are just a few.

I didn't take the next one, the girl who worked there volunteered to take one of us.

We spent about 30 - 45 minutes there and then we went to BJ's at Waterford Lakes. Riley got to drive the car cart and he thought that was great, Grampa would have like some power steering on it.

Then it was time to head home and watch football for the rest of the day.

Can You Say Hot!!!!

The day started overcast and gray with a couple of sprinkles thrown in for good measure. It was our day to frame in the deck. Dan had a few miscellaneous things to do before we started so I was moving the furniture out of the way and taking care of the plants. This is what I found in the pineapple. Always gives me a start when I see a frog (in case you don't remember I don't like Frogs). Almost didn't even see this one but caught it out of the corner of my eye. He just sat there watching me, waiting for me to turn my back so he could jump and scare me again. So I just backed away, got the camera and took the shot and carried on with my day.

We were slow starting just had to get a rhythm going and once we did everything moved along quite well. Only had to make on trip to Home Depot.

We didn't mind the weather until the sun came over the roof line and all the clouds in the sky disappeared so we were getting baked for the last hour and a half we were working. The deck is all framed and ready for the floor, next weekend hopefully for that (Sunday because we are busy Saturday).

We ate lunch really late so when it got to be about 1630 I knew we weren't going to want dinner so I suggested a treat from Dairy Queen, never get any resistance to that, and off we went.

Then is was home and now we are waiting for the Red Sox game to start, I would so love to see a few afternoon games so I know I will see the whole game.

Short Post

Spent the morning, I guess it would be early morning with Tammy. I was home by 1000. We went to Wal-Mart, Post Office, Sonic and the bank. Had to do the drive through for the bank because one of the checks I tried to deposit on Wednesday couldn't be read and you have no other option but to go into the bank (haven't done that in about 3 years) or the drive through, so the drive through it was.

Then we went back to Tammy's to see all the projects that have been completed. They all look great. Really like the floor in the bedroom, they did a great job. The tractor cabinet looks good and Dad was working on a cabinet for Mum's cars. It is probably pretty close to finished.

I picked up the nail gun for the deck project this weekend. Let's hope the rain holds off for a portion of the day.

Stopped at Publix on my way home and picked up salad stuff and taco fixings for dinner.

Spent the rest of the day watching recorded shows and working on some scrapbook stuff.

Thursday

My day was filled with people coming to do things at the house. The DirecTV guy came and I'm not sure if he did anything or not, said he adjusted the satellite dish but I didn't actually go out and watch him and seeing as how I had a hard time understanding him he could have told me just about anything and I would have nodded.

The bug man was also here and did his thing so we should be bug free for another year.

Also had the pleasure of Tammy's company which is always nice and we got a start on getting pictures off her computer.

Nothing much else so here are a couple of pictures. I'm pretty sure the first one is Tammy on Christmas morning. So there is another picture of her.

This one I don't know the story behind but I will say it is Grampa being Grampa. Love old pictures.

Need to get back to scanning but it is such a slow tedious job, it really needs to be done though.

New Routine

Changed my Weight Watcher's day, over the next few months I knew that Friday's wouldn't be working out for WW. To many long weekends and holidays. So I decided to start going to the early morning meeting on Wednesday's. I get up at my normal time and just take by shower right away and head out the door at about 0530 to make the 0600 weigh-in. Today wasn't good because I had skipped two weeks and that is never good. But I'm back on track now.

When I walked out of the meeting this is what I saw and for some reason I didn't grab my camera today. So all these shots are with my cell phone, not to bad but I think next week I will definitely have the camera with me.

On my drive this morning saw that gas was the cheapest I have seen in a while so I stopped at Wal-Mart on Osceola Parkway on my way home.

Then I got home and phone calls started. Just remember "It's all fun and games, until someone almost looses a finger." And that someone would be Andy. After about an hour of just trying to get the whole story this is what I believe happened. Andy was cutting something, the utility knife or what ever he was using slipped. Cut his finger, they got the bleeding to stop and a bandage on. Andy passes out, so they have to call an ambulance. Andy goes to hospital the finger is saved with two stitches. All is well except for some light headedness on Andy's part but he should be fine by tomorrow.

Now if you have a weak stomach be careful looking at the picture...

...because it doesn't look nearly as bad as we all thought it would but it sure does hurt and to make matters worse Andy had to have a tetanus shot and they gave it to him in the same arm, so he is sore from his shoulder to the tips of his finger.

I now know that Riley is truly a member of the family, here he is falling asleep eating his peanut butter sandwich for lunch. He was really fighting it and I was hoping he would lay his head down and just go to sleep but he got past it so this was the only picture I got.

Got Rain?

The important thing about this picture is not the cuties in the forground but look at the level of the water in the pool. This picture was taken Saturday afternoon and I was actually thinking that the level was getting kind of low.

But now on Tuesday afternoon with it still raining out, look at the level of the pool.

Can't even see any of the tiles and it is still raining out. I'm really not complaining about the rain because we always seem to need it. Just amazed at how much we have gotten in the past few days.

Not much else going on today, just doing stuff around the house, listening to the rain.
