Lunch and the Pool

My internet has been up and down all day and I wanted to get at least this picture posted, I have lots more (thanks to Tammy). We had a get-together for lunch and then out to the pool for the afternoon. This is GG and Riley, in case you don't recognize them.

Had a really good time and the kids were in seventh heaven having all of us to show off too. Will do more pictures when the internet is a bit more reliable.

She's Quite the Little Ham

Here is the picture of Kaleigh in her Birthday Outfit. Still hard to believe that she is a year old already. She went from barely walking a couple of steps at her birthday party (3.5 weeks ago) to constantly being on the move and not needing any support to stand up.

I went to swimming lessons with Riley today, that was the fastest half hour ever. We had a really good time. The only thing he just refuses to do is blow bubbles, not sure why but he just doesn't want to. He isn't to thrilled with going under water but he gets over that really fast. I'm going to go a couple more times, once to sit on the sidelines and get some pictures and another to be the in the water person.

Looks like our Taco Bell/KFC is open. When I went to Publix today there were cars in the drive-thru. So I'm sure we will be making a trip there in the near future.

Could They Be Any Cuter?

Going to start with a couple of pictures that Andy and Nikki had taken of Kaleigh and Riley. They are definitely a couple of cute kids.

Starting Riley young, wanting a motorcycle.

Started my day with a walk and if I could get rid of the first mile the times would be so much better. It just seems to take a bit to get going, if you can believe it is actually kind of cool when I head at 0600 so I have to get warmed up.

Then I went to watch Kaleigh because today was the start of Riley's swimming lessons, he was one very excited little boy. He really wanted me to come along so on Wednesday I'm going to go with them and be the person in the water with Riley.

Kaleigh and I had a great morning, first we built some towers with her blocks and then she just wandered around. She went to Andy and Nikki's bedroom and called for Dada and then down to Riley's room to look for him. It has never been just the two of us and I think it confused her.

Then we sat on the couch and played This Little Piggy over and over. She gave one yawn at about 1000 and I put her in for her nap and I never heard a peep out of her.

Here are a couple of pictures I took today, this dress was so very cute on her.

Kobe Steakhouse

Started my day with a six mile walk and everything was going along fine until the last two miles and for some reason my get up and go, got up and went. I added almost 30 seconds to each of those miles. Don't really know why but I guess it happens. Thankfully tomorrow is a rest day for me.

Dan had some work to do and then he went shooting, which he always enjoys.

Then the highlight of our day. Andy has been telling us for years that we needed to go to Kobe's for dinner someday and that turned out to be today. He was right, it was delicious and the white sauce is one of the best I have ever tasted. We thought of you, Andy, while we were there and Dad had the filet just for you, he also had chicken and shrimp. I had the shrimp, if we ever go again I will get the scallops, tried one of Kim's and it was delicious.

Here is the gang.

From the other direction.

The onion volcano.

Dan our chef. This was the seafood portion of the meal.

Making sure we were all paying attention.

We had a really good time tonight and should do something like this again sometime.

After eating we went to Bass Pro Shop and looked around a bit. Then it was home for the evening.

Look Out, We're Off to the Commissary

I had a great walk this morning, my pace for the 4 miles was 13:56. One of the few that I have done in under 14 minutes a mile. I left a bit earlier than normal because I wanted to pick Tammy up at about 0730 to head over to Patrick for some Commissary shopping.

We got over there at about 0845 and it took us 2 hours to get all our shopping done. Still having problems with the new layout of the store but I'm sure by this time next year I will have it all figured out. Doesn't help we only shop there every four to six weeks.

Dropped Tammy off and I got home at just after noon and it took me the next hour to unload and put everything away.

Riley and Andy dropped by for a visit. It never ceases to amaze me how much of a little boy Riley is now and how he amuses himself for such long periods of times. Today he was having a good time with all his cars. I really like just watching him.

Dan got home before they left so he got to play with Riley also, they went out for a walk around the neighborhood. Dan walks and pulls the wagon that Riley rides in. Then they came back and read a book.

Riley's new thing when it is time to leave he says, "Go night-night at Baapa's house", hoping to extend the visit a little bit longer. He hasn't stayed over since March so it is getting to be about that time for an overnight visit soon, I'm sure.

Dan was ready for the end of this week and he lucked out and was home by about 1430 so it was a nice short day for him after a couple of twelve hour days this week. Okay so they were all twelve hour ones except for today.

Time Just Keeps Moving Along

It has been a very busy week and I really don't know where the time has gone too. I watched Riley and Kaleigh on Tuesday while Andy and Nikki did some errands. Always one of my favorite things to do, we have such a good time. I usually get some alone time with Riley if I'm there in the morning because Kaleigh goes down for a nap, then when she gets up we all play together.

Of course I had Weight Watchers on Wednesday with all the errands that go along with that. I think one thing that makes the days seem busy is Dan has been working long hours again, not getting home until after 1900 and that makes the evening feel really short and then the day seems short.

Today was errands with Mum, Dad, and Tammy. Of course we started with a walk at the lake front. Tammy and I were walking along and saw this duck with her neck all stretched out looking at something. So we were trying to figure out what she was looking at when Tammy glanced down and there were all her ducklings. She wasn't looking at something, she was looking for something, the something that could grab her ducklings.

On our way back they got into the water to swim away from us and the ducklings weren't to happy about that, they would have been happier just walking on the shore.

We came up on Mum and Dad and we all made it back to the car at the same time.

Then we were off to Panera, Lowe's, Wal-Mart, and Publix. Got gas at Wal-Mart and it must have taken more than five minutes to pump 16 gallons of gas. These pumps were the slowest any of us had ever seen.

Then it was back to Tammy's, where I played a game of Deal or No Deal on the Wii and it was a lot of fun. Home and finishing up the laundry for the rest of the afternoon.

Busy Monday

Usually Monday's are a pretty quiet day for me, but today I had a bunch of things I wanted to get done. First was my walk, it was a beautiful morning and I did three miles. Got home, had breakfast, took my shower and then I was off to do my errands.

The only reason I did errands today was because I really wanted to get my hair cut, it was starting to curl in the back and that just drives me crazy. So I figured if I was going out I might as well do all the things on my list.

Started with Target, which I don't often get to because it isn't convenient. Then it was on to Michael's, Wal-Mart, and the Hair Cuttery. I learned my lesson today, make the haircut the first stop and not the last because by that time of morning everyone is out and about. I ended up having an hour wait, at least I had a magazine to read and the time went by fast.
